Southern Cross Station Melbourne is located at the western end of the city, on Spencer Street, and is Melbourne’s third busiest railway station. It is one of five stations on the City Loop, that part of the Metro train system which runs mainly under the city. The other stations on the loop are Flagstaff, Melbourne Central, Parliament and Flinders Street.

There are also Firefly Express and Greyhound Australia interstate coach services, and V/Line coach services to other parts of Victoria not served by rail.
