Southern Cross Station Melbourne is located at the western end of the city, on Spencer Street, and is Melbourne’s third busiest railway station. It is one of five stations on the City Loop, that part of the Metro train system which runs mainly under the city. The other stations on the loop are Flagstaff, Melbourne Central, Parliament and Flinders Street.

Southern Cross Station is the terminus of Victoria’s V/Line regional railway network, The Overland rail service to Adelaide, and NSW TrainLink XPT services to Sydney.

Southern Cross Coach Terminal is a part of the same complex. Skybus services to Melbourne Airport and Sunbus Shuttle services to Avalon airport operate from here. There are also Firefly Express and Greyhound Australia interstate coach services, and V/Line coach services to other parts of Victoria not served by rail.

With all these connections under one roof, it is easy to arrive at Melbourne airport, take a bus to Southern Cross Station, and from there to connect with the Metro Trains to anywhere in the greater Melbourne area, or connect with a coach or train to other destinations outside of Melbourne.
